Angeline (Goodman) Behoe

Biography:

Mrs. Angeline (Goodman) Behoe is buried in an unmarked grave in Ellsworth Cemetery in Westminster, Maryland.
She was born, the daughter of Mr. Isiah Goodman in the summer of 1852 in Maryland. She was likely enslaved until the Maryland Constitution was changed to outlaw slavery in 1864. Her enslaver has not been found.
Ms. Goodman was married to a man named Black, although it is not clear when. We do know that she was using that name when she married Mr. Charles Behoe in 1893, and had a son, Kenneth Black.
The couple rented a house on Union Street. She took in wash, as many women did.
Mrs. Behoe died in 1927 of heart disease and is buried in Ellsworth Cemetery.
