Biography:
Ms. Grace Eva Adams (also Eva Grace) is buried in Ellsworth Cemetery, in Westminster, Maryland.
She was born on November 25, 1876. Her father was William H. Adams, a Veteran of the 30th USCT. Her mother was Mrs. Eliza (Bell) Adams.
Mrs. Adams worked as a cook and wash woman, often for private families. She had two children, John and Sterling Adams. Her parents helped her raise the boys, while she occasionally lived in another part of Westminster. John followed his grandfather’s example and served in the US Army. He lived in Philadelphia. Sterling moved to Gettysburg, where he worked as a cook. Mrs. Adams continued to live in Westminster, taking in boarders.
She lived to be 77 years old, and passed away in March of 1955.
